Lake Odessa Wave - August 26, 1976
          RITES TODAY FOR MATTIE LESLIE
   Mrs. Mattie M. Leslie, 79, passed away Monday evening at the Kent Community
Hospital, Grand Rapids 
where she had been a patient for three weeks but had been hospitalized since July
8.
   She was born at Saranac November 2, 1896, the daughter of John and Emily (King)
Leary and married 
Joseph Leslie August 27, 1927.  He passed away December 5, 1969.
   Mrs. Leslie was member of the Calary United Brethren Church at Lake Odessa.
   Surviving are three sons:  Howard and Harold Kendall and Joseph Leslie Jr.; three
daughters; Mrs. Gerald 
(Marie) Kruger, Mrs. Helen Blundell and Mrs. Jerry (Shirley) Raymond; and a
stepdaughter, Mrs. Theodore 
(Elizabeth) Richards, all of Lake Odessa; 18 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren;
two brothers, Lee Leary of 
Saranac and Will of Remus; and a sister, Mrs Fern Garrison of Saranac.
   Funeral services will be held Thursday (today) at 1:30 at the Pickens-Koops
Funeral Chapel, Rev. Norman 
Wilbert and Rev. Richard Sessink will officiate with burial in Lakeside Cemetery.
