Ionia Shopper's Guide Sat. September 11, 2021

LESLIE
Lucille E.Leslie, age 97, of Ionia passed away September 2, 2021 at her home 
surrounded by family. She was born February 16, 1924 in Lowell, MI, the daughter 
of Smith and Lois (Morrill) Kyser.

Lucille travelled the United States in her early years with her parents while 
her father sold things that he had invented. She finally settled in Ionia when 
she was in the 6th grade. She married Gayle E.Leslie August 16, 1944 in Ionia. 
He preceded her in death on January 28, 2011 after 66 years of marriage. Lucille 
worked at American Anodco for 2 years, then later worked at the Friend of the 
Court office as a secretary for 10 years. Following the retirement of Mrs.Bird, 
she took over the position of Friend of the Court working under Judge Gebeau for 
12 years until her retirement in 1986. She was a member of the First United 
Methodist Church in Ionia.

Surviving are her daughter, Sharon (Dallas) Houghton of Ionia, daughter-in-law 
Teresa Leslie, Grandchildren; Michael (Amanda) Leslie of Muskegon, Laura (Joe) 
Lutz of Grand Haven, Thomsa (Stacie) Houghton of Saranac, Nathan (Naomi) 
Houghton of Haslett and Casey (Nicole) Houghton of Fenwick. Great grandchildren; 
Peyton Houghton, Cooper Houghton, Noelle Leslie, Lucas (Britany) Leslie, Matthew 
Leslie, David Leslie, Braden Leslie, Allison Lutz, Alex Lutz, Benjamin Lutz and 
Hanna Lutz. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Gayle and her 
son Thomas.

Visitation will be at theLake Funeral Home on Friday, September 10th, 2021 3-6 
p.m. Funeral services will be private and will be available on the Lake Funeral 
home facebook Page. Those wishing may make memorial contributions to Spectrum
