She had been engaged in teaching school in Berlin and was suddenly taken ill while occupied with the duties of her position. She was a young lady of many lovable qualities of character, and was universally esteemed by her associates and companions. At the time of her death both her father and mother were seriously ill with the bilious fever, and were unable to attend her funeral, which occurred on Sunday at the M. E. church in this city. Rev. A. J. Eldred preached an appropriate sermon to a very large audience, the scholars of her former school in Berlin attending the services in a body.
