Lewis, 71, died at her home in Saranac Wednesday evening, January 26, at 6:30 o’clock following an illness of one day. She was the daughter of the late John and Mary Britten and was born in Clinton county September 15, 1866. In the year 1888, March 7, she was married to Fred Lewis, who survives her. They made their home in South Boson where they lived on a farm until several years ago when they moved to Saranac. She was an active member of the WCTU of the Methodist church, a member of the Knight society of the Congregational church and a former member of the South Boston grange. Survivors besides her husband Fred are a daughter, Mrs. Bernice Ruid of Holland, a sister, Mrs. Jennie Lewis of Saranac, a niece and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be held from the home in Saranac Saturday afternoon, January 29, at 2 o’clock with interment in South Boston cemetery. The Rev. Frank Loomis and Rev. John Gerhing, pastors of the Methodist and Congregational churches at Saranac, will conduct the services.
