Edward (Ed) Lewis, 67, of Muir, died Monday afternoon, May 28 from a heart 
attack, while working on the Max Reynolds store building.  He was the son of 
Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Lewis of Plainfield.  The Lewis family moved to Saranac, 
while Edward was a young man, and later he married Lula Loper.  They lived in 
Muir for the past 26 years.

Surviving are his wife Lula; two daughters, Mrs. Morris Lincoln of Dundee and 
Mrs. Marvin Sage of Ionia; four grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Ed Scott 
and Mrs. Hugh Tate, both of Saranac.

The body will be at the Shaw-Rivett funeral home in Muir.  Funeral services 
will be held at the Shaw-Rivett funeral home Thursday afternoon, May 31 at 2 
o’clock.  The Rev. Roger Wright will officiate.  Interment will be in Oakwood 
cemetery in Muir.

Funeral services for Ed Lewis were conducted from the Shaw-Rivett funeral home 
Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock.  Services were conducted by the Rev. Roger 
Right of the First Christian church.  Pallbearers were Clare Lewis, Coral 
Estep, Robert Bentz, Max Reynolds, Omer Postle and Harold Sprank.

Those from out of two were Mr. and Mrs. Benson Sage of Grand Rapids, Mr. and 
Mrs. Merle Dorie, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Loper, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Loper, Mr. 
and Mrs. Charles Loper, all of Belding, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Sage, Mrs. Joseph 
Sawtell, Mr. and Mrs. Victor Cottrell and Mrs. Elwood Spencer, Ivan and Marvel 
Cottrell, all of Ionia; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Scott and Mrs. Hugh Tate and Mrs. Arden 
Meyers of Saranac; Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Johnston, Mr. and Mrs. Don Leddick and 
Mrs. Frances Blodgett of Ionia, Lloyd Loper of Fenwick Mr. and Mrs. Charles 
Hansen of Greenville, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Hancock of Mt. Pleasant and Mrs. 
Allison of Belding.
