Mary was born July 17, 1919, in Winfield Township, Montcalm County, the daughter of John and Pearl Bass Keeler. She graduated from Lakeview High School with the class of 1937. Mary was a member of Belding American Legion Post No. 203 Auxiliary, having served as president and other offices, a member of 8 ET Salon 726 and a life member of the Order of Eastern Star in Cedar Springs and Sparta. She had retired from Frigidaire, serving as receptionist. Mary loved to golf, play cards and enjoyed spending the winters in California with her very special niece and nephew, Kirk and Sharron Keeler, and their daughter, Kris. On Nov. 25, 1939, in Amble she married Glenn H. Lewis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen H. Lewis, in 1965; granddaughter, Dannie “Twiget” L. Hall, in 1980; great-grandson, Casey L. Halverson, in 1999; son-in-law, Joseph F. Quillan, in 1984; and sister, Billie Wilson, in 1995. Mary is survived by her children, Jack and Betty Lewis of Whitehall, Margo Quillan and James Jones of Belding, Glenna and Denny Brown of Portland, Penny and Dan Hall of Belding; 12 grandchildren and their spouses, Jennell and Krag Halverson, Chris and Michelle Lewis, Heather and Mark Seiferlein, Dave and Donna Quillan, Devin Quillan, Amy and Shawn Seal, Chanda Rheingan, Jason Brown, Mary Jo and Terry Boni, Rob Hall, Tim Hall and Lacie, John and Kristie Hall; 18 great grandchildren, Logan Halverson, Bailey and Sophie, Lewis, Tyler and Cameron Seiferlein, Andy Quillan, Taylor and Kyle Quillan, Ashleigh, Mackenzie, Logan and Macey Seal. Peyton Rheingan, Danielle Boni, Jennica Hall, Mercadies, Lexis and Chad Hall and Seth, Sissy and Joey; and sisters, Pauline and Pete McIntyre of Rockford, Myrtle Jane McKimmy of Gladwin. Funeral services are 1 p.m. Wednesday at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding, with Pastor Ken Harger of Shiloh Community Church officiating. Interment will following in River Ridge Cemetery, Belding. A luncheon will be served at the American Legion Post in Belding following the service at the cemetery. The family will greet relatives and friends from 2 to 4 and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the charity of one’s choice.
