She had been a sufferer with Bright’s disease for many years and together with the injury and old age was unable to regain. Jane Peets Lewis was born in Canada and came with her parents to Ashland when four years of age. She was married to Alfred Lewis and the family lived in this city for the past 29 years. The husband, who was a Civil war veteran, died in 1913. There is one surviving child, Mrs. Henry Smith of Fremont, who was with her mother at the time of her death. Funeral services will be held from the Fitzjohn funeral home Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock. Rev. H.S. Ellis will officiate and burial will be in River Ridge cemetery. Mrs. Lewis had been affiliated with the Baptist church for many years and had a host of friends in this city who regret her accident and death. She is survived besides the daughter, by a brother, Francis Peets, of Grant.
