The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Tuesday, March 22, 1921
Howard M. Lewis, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Hudson Lewis, was found dead in 
bed this morning at the home 330 Johnson street, the cause of death being 
undoubtedly do from strangulation from whooping cough.  The little fellow was 
apparently all right about midnight when the mother was up with him and death 
occurred somewhere near 5 o’clock.  The funeral will be held from the 
residence Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock.  Rev. E. E. Branch will officiate 
and burial will take place in Highland Park cemetery.

Subsequent Publication:  Thursday, Marcy 24, 1921

The funeral for Howard, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Hudson Lewis, was held 
Wednesday afternoon at 3 o’clock at the residence, 300 Johnson street.  The 
service was conducted by Rev. E. E. Branch.  Burial took place in Highland 
Park cemetery.
