She has previously been a patient at Ionia County Memorial hospital seven weeks. Born in Keswick, England, February 22, 1895, she was the daughter of Frederick and Jane Richardson Walker. She came to the United States when 17 and settled in Ionia with her parents. She was married to Hudson H. Lewis May 4, 1913, at First Baptist church in Ionia and they lived their entire married life in Ionia. She lived at the Pleasant street address the past 26 years. The couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1963. He preceded her in death June 26, 1969. She was a member of the St. Johns Episcopal church of Ionia. Surviving are a son, James Lewis of Ionia; three daughters, Mrs. Violent Chance of Ionia, Mrs. Gertrude McClain of Midland and Dorothy Lewis of Smyrna; seven grandchildren; one great grandchild; two sisters, Mrs. Belle Zemliska of Hess Lake and Mrs. Mae Roomsburg of Ionia. Mrs. Lewis is at Leddick funeral home where the family will meet friend and relatives Thursday and Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral serviced will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Johns Episcopal church. Fr. Charles Lynch will officiate and interment will be at Tuttle cemetery. Subsequent Publication: Monday, September 24, 1973 Rev. Charles Lynch officiated at funeral services Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Johns Episcopal church for Alberta Lewis, who died Wednesday. Organist was Mrs. Dorothy Clore. Interment was at Tuttle cemetery. Bearers were Harry Carroll, William Erridge, Charles McMellen, Leslie McMellen, John Walker, Clare Wilcox, Kenneth Reynolds and Gerald Kenny. Following graveside services a luncheon was served by women of the Elks lodge in the Elks dining room.
