The Portland Observer, Wednesday, December 14, 1881
Mr. Nelson Lewis died at the residence of his brother, Hiram Lewis, in this 
village on Sunday evening last, of typhoid pneumonia, aged 51 years.  His 
funeral took place from the Gibbs school house in Orange yesterday.  The 
deceased had never been married.
