The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Wednesday, January 8, 1941
Mrs. Sarah Lillie, 86, died Saturday morning at the home of her granddaughter 
in Port Huron where she had been spending the Christmas holidays.  She had 
been making her permanent home at Athens with her son, Arley Curtis.  She was 
the wife of the late Edward Curtis who was a brother to Lewis Curtis of Ionia, 
and father of Alvin Curtis of Ionia.  Following the death of Mr. Curtis she 
was married to Evelin Lillie.

Surviving are the son, Arley; two daughters, Mrs. Mae Sutton of Washington, D. 
C. and Mrs. Elizabeth Curtis Wolf of Battle Creek, several grandchildren and 
great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at Athens.  Interment was at the 
Athens cemetery.
