Lindgren, 28, will be conducted by John H. Doughty Saturday at 3 p.m. at Stone-Kauffman funeral home. Bishop Gordon Beckstrand of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints of East Lansing will officiate. Interment will be at Balcom cemetery. He was born August 8, 1944, in Ionia and died Wednesday at Sparrow hospital in Lansing following an extended illness. He attended St. Johns Lutheran school and Ionia high school where he graduated in 1962. He graduated from Michigan State university, East Lansing, in December of 1966 and was employed by the Michigan department of highway as an internal auditor until 1970 when he retired due to ill health. His father, Melvin Lundgren, was killed in World War II and was buried in the Philippine Islands in 1945. Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Gordon Grovier of Ionia; and two grandmothers, Mrs. Elizabeth Lemke of Ionia and Mrs. Alma Lindgren of Grand Rapids. Visitation hours at the funeral home are Thursday and Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. A memorial has been established for the multiple sclerosis fund.
