Lindley, finisher at the Ionia Manufacturing Company, had retired about midnight Saturday telling his wife he expected to rise early Sunday morning to clear away the snow. Because of his wife’s illness Lindley had been sleeping upstairs. Coroner Dale Kauffman said Lindley appeared to have died shortly after he retired. Both Coroner Kauffman and Sheriff Peter VanVleck investigated. Lindley was an avid sportsman and was an expert fisherman and hunter. Ammon L. Lindley, 54, of 423 King street died Sunday morning at his home. The son of Mr. and Mrs. Ammon Lindley, St., he was born April 23, 1902 in Ionia. He was married to the former Martha B. Rogers and was employed at the Ionia Manufacturing Co. He was a member of the Ionia Hunting and Fishing club and Loyal Order of the Moose. Surviving are his wife Martha, brothers William of East LeRoy, Dower of Bronson, two sisters, Mrs. Don Burnett of East Tawas and Mrs. Jack Bush of Brand Rapids. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Myers funeral home with the Rev. Fr. James Hoogtern officiating. Interment will be in the family lot, Balcom cemetery.
