Mrs. and Mrs. Lindley came to Ionia about the year 1871, from which time they were identified with the community’s best citizenship. Mr. Lindley, by real business integrity built up a large shoe business and put up the fine block that bears his name. He died about ten years ago. Mrs. Lindley was a woman esteemed highly for her goodness of heart and kindly qualities, and from St. John Episcopal church, where during her lifetime in Ionia she was a loyal supporter, and as long as she was able, a regular attendant, the funeral will be held. So far as known, Mrs. Lindley had no living blood relatives but she is survived by George Douglas, a nephew of her late husband, who has lived with the family since boyhood.
