The Ionia Daily Sentinel, Friday, May 31, 1907
Mrs. Ann Lindley died this morning at 4 o’clock at her home, 309 West Main 
street, after an illness of several weeks.  Mrs. and Mrs. Lindley came to 
Ionia about the year 1871, from which time they were identified with the 
community’s best citizenship.  Mr. Lindley, by real business integrity built 
up a large shoe business and put up the fine block that bears his name.  He 
died about ten years ago.  

Mrs. Lindley was a woman esteemed highly for her goodness of heart and kindly 
qualities, and from St. John Episcopal church, where during her lifetime in 
Ionia she was a loyal supporter, and as long as she was able, a regular 
attendant, the funeral will be held.  

So far as known, Mrs. Lindley had no living blood relatives but she is 
survived by George Douglas, a nephew of her late husband, who has lived with 
the family since boyhood.
