Lindley, a former resident of the city, where he lived for many years, died at his room at Greenville on Wednesday evening of last week after an illness of a week caused by cancer of the throat and from which he had suffered a long time. The Lindley family were residents here for many years, the mother and some of the children dying here and were buried in the old cemetery. Another son, Charles, moved to Greenville and eighteen years ago “Bill” as he was familiarly known, went up there to be near him. He often returned to Belding and always had a good time mixing with the old timers who knew him. Funeral services were held at Greenville on Saturday afternoon and the body was brought here where it was buried in the old cemetery by the side of his wife and a son and daughter. Charles Lindley, of Greenville, is the only survivor.
