Lindsey, 74, of Belding, passed away Tuesday morning, Feb. 21, 2006, at Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus, Grand Rapids. L.J. was born Nov. 6, 1931, in Belding, the son of Charles and Zella Crankshaw Lindsey. He attended Belding Public Schools and proudly served his country in the Korean War from 1952 until 1954. L.J. was a past member of the Belding and Weidman Masonic Lodges and a Boy Scout leader. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. On Aug. 14, 1954, in Barryton, he married Katherine Howard. L.J. was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Kale and Burt. He is survived by his wife, Katherine; their children, Robert and Rebecca Lindsey, Denise and Joseph Label, Duane and Thana Lindsey, Cal and Vicky Lindsey, all of Belding; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and one on the way; sister, Dru Hoxie of Pottersville; brother, Perky Lindsey and fiancée Gene Kerjensky of Cedar Springs; and sisters-in-law, Martha Lindsey of Florida, Elizabeth Lindsey of Greenville. Funeral services are 11 a.m. Friday at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding, with Dave Greene officiating. Interment is in Rest Haven Memory Gardens, Belding. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and one hour before the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Kidney Foundation.
