Ionia County News, 20 Apr 1922

Alice Josephine Hopkins, daughter of Nathaniel and Hannah Hopkins, was born 
June 6th, 1861, in Ronald township, and departed this life at her home in 
Lyons, April 17, 1922, at the age of 60 years, 10 months and 11 days.  At the 
age of two years she came with her parents to Lyons, where the reminder of her 
life was spent.  She was united in marriage to James F. Lindsey September 10, 
1882.  To this union five children were born, one dying in infancy.  The four 
living children are Albert F. Lindsey; Mrs. Viva M. Brown, of Lyons; Nathaniel 
P. Lindsey, of Detroit, and Mrs. Vida Knapp, of Sheridan.  Mrs. Lindsey was a 
devoted wife and mother and was always trying to make others comfortable and 
happy.  She leaves to mourn her loss four children, six grandchildren, a 
brother, Albert F. Hopkins, of Lyons, three sisters, Mrs. Laura Mills and Mrs. 
Dora Clements, of Lyons and Mrs. Rae Gladding, of Palo, and other relatives.  
Funeral will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the M. E. church in Lyons, Rev. 
Chas. Nease officiating.  Burial in Lyons cemetery.
