The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Thursday, June 17, 1946


Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. from the LeValley Methodist 
church for Lafe Linebaugh, 73, who died in the Ionia County Memorial hospital 
Monday morning.  The Rev. Marcuis Tabor officiated following prayer services at 
2:00 o’clock in the Boynton funeral home.  Interment was in Portland cemetery.

Mrs. Doris Larson was organist and music was by Mrs. Robert Weisgerber.  
Flowers were in charge of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Leifheit.  Pallbearers were John 
Linebaugh, William Linebaugh, David Linebaugh, Sam Barnett, Ray Elbert and Jack 
F. Hill.

Attending from away were Frank Linebaugh, Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Hill, Jack P. 
Hill, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Castle, Mr. and Mrs. B. W. Jackson, Jr. and Mrs. John 
Linebaugh, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Trierweiler, all of Portland; W. F. Kingsbury of 
Grand Rapids, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Steebey of Wayland, Morris Catt of Detroit; Mr. 
and Mrs. L. A. Hall of Ovid, Mr. and Mrs. Homer Cowles of Belding, Mrs. Clara 
Cowles of St. Louis, Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Linebaugh of Ann Arbor, Mr. and Mrs. 
Walter Steffey of Albion, Dr. and Mrs. Madison Gilbert of Owosso, Mr. and Mrs. 
Paul Jopp of Leslie and Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Linebaugh, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Barnett,
