He was the first of 9 children born to Ray and Greta. Formal schooling ended somewhere before the 8th grade when he joined his father in business working at “Ray Link and Son, Garage and Machine Shop” until entering the Army Air Corp in 1943. While stationed in Bryan, TX he married M. Marie Seese from Alto, MI. They had four children and they remained married for 61 years before she passed away suddenly in 2005. In 2009 he married Mary Lou Polvado of Wickenburg, AZ and they remained married until his death. He served as a Army Air Corp machinist in the Philippines during and immediately after WWII. He then returned to Lower Michigan and worked as a Tool and Die Maker and Machinist, a trade he practiced until retiring in 1985. He moved from Michigan to Oregon in 1974, and remained in the Northwest until 1995 when he and Marie moved to Mt. Storm, WV to be near family. After her death he moved to Arizona in 2008. He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Polvado Link of Wickenburg, AZ; children Jim Link and Mary Garrick Link of Sacramento, CA; Margaret A. and Don Rathjen of Spring Hill, FL; Janice M. and Bob Hicks of Mt. Storm, WV, and B. Jeanie and Glen Webb of Rocky Mount, VA; stepsons Jack and Goldie Polvado of Surprise, AZ; Brian and Susan Polvado of San Marcos, TX; and stepdaughter Myrnie Joe Jarden of Attleboro, MA; 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; 9 step-grandchildren; 11 step-great grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother Richard (Dick) and Lavonia Link of Melrose, FL; three sisters, Iris and Bernard Watson of Ocala, FL; Betty Myrick of Gainesville, FL; Carol Ann and Alva Joe Mickler of Clewiston, FL; and brother- in-law Gerald and Shirley Seese of Clarksville, MI; sisters-in-law Irene Seese White of Apalachicola, FL; Mary Seese Roush of Lake Odessa, MI; Nancy Seese Sauers and husband DeWayne Ward of Ionia, MI. A memorial service was held October 15, 2013 at the Wickenburg SDA Church in Wickenburg, AZ. He will be laid to rest beside his first wife at the Mount Storm Cemetery in Mt. Storm, WV.
