Lipscomb 80 of Bostwick Lake passed away at his home Wednesday morning. He was born near Lake Odessa and spent his early life southwest of town, later moving to Grand Rapids where he was employed by the Pere Marquette Railroad Co. as lead inspector and foreman of the freight car repair for forty years. They returned to reside here for about seven years on a farm northwest of town and then moved back to Grand Rapids. His first wife was Floy Cotton of the Tamarac area and she passed away about twenty years ago. Following his retirement in 1942 he moved to Cannonsburg where he lived for several years before moving to his present home. He was employed during the summer at the Townsend Park as attendant for nine years retiring four years ago. Surviving are his wife, Alice; two daughters, Mrs. Arne (Lorna) Knowles of Hastings and Mrs. Frank (Donna) Dunham of Grand Rapids: one son Ford or Grand Rapids, a step son of Howard City; three sisters, Mr. Belle Klingman, Lake Odessa, Mrs. Elva Cooper of Van Nuys and Mrs. Veda Eddy of Santa Ana, California and eight grandchildren. Funeral services were held Friday at 1:30 at the Pickens funeral chapel with burial in Lakeside cemetery Veda Eddy of Santa Ana California, Sunfield officiated.
