ANGELINE LIPSCOMB, MOTHER OF ELEVEN CHILDREN, TWENTY-THREE GRAND CHILDREN AND TWELVE GREAT GRAND CHILDREN --------------- The funeral of Mrs. Angeline Lipscomb of Carlton township was held Sept. 25th at the home of her daughter Mrs. Wm. Hill, conducted by Rev. Eva M. Ickes an interment was in Lakeside Cemetery. Mrs. Lipscomb was a Christian mother and a loyal friend. She experienced the privations of pioneer life and served her generation well. OBITUARY Angeline Lipscomb was born in Canada, January 1st, 1850 and departed this life at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Wm. Hill, in Carlton township, Sept. 23rd, 1925, at the age of seventy-five years, nine months and 23 days. She came to Michigan when a small child. She was united in marriage to Miles W. Lipscomb April 24th 1866, who died June 18th, 1902. To this union were born eleven children, five of whom died in infancy. There remains to mourn their loss three sons, Sylvanus, Milo and Everett Llipscomb, all of Grand Rapids,, three daughters, Mrs. Wm. Hill of Carlton township, Mrs. Sarah Griffin of Hastings, and Mrs. Ira Curtis of Lake Odessa, twenty-three grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and a host of friends She was an earnest Christian and for some years was a member of the Tamarac U. B. Church near Lake Odessa. I'm lonely since my mother died, Though friends and kindred gather near, I cannot check the rising sigh, Or stay the silent tear. ------------ CARD OF THANKS We wish to thank the neighbors and friends for their help and kindness during the sickness and death of our mother.
