Ionia Daily Sentinel Standard, 27 May 1957

Roy Wallace Litchfield, 72, of 125 North Arnold street, South Ionia, died Sunday
night at an Ionia convalescent home after a short illness.  He had been a
patient at the convalescent home for one week.  Born December 30, 1884 in
Sunfield, he had lived there for many years and was a farmer.  After his
retirement, he had lived in Ionia for five years.  He married the former Retta
Shaffer of Sunfield.

Surviving besides his wife are four sons, Cleo of Mason, Leo of Palo, Elving of
Eaton Rapids, and Durwood of Lansing; three daughters, Mrs. Erma Weeks and Mrs.
Atheline Fisher of Saranac and Mrs. Maxine Stahl of Clarksville; 22
grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and one brother, Niles Litchfield of
Mulliken.

Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock, funeral services will be held at the Mapes
funeral home in Sunfield.  Burial will be in the Sunfield cemetery.
