James Little, 90, of Palo, died Tuesday afternoon at Hackley hospital in 
Muskegon, where he had been a patient about a week. Mr. Little, who had been in 
good health until his admittance to the hospital, underwent surgery and was 
reported improving. He suffered a heart attack unexpectedly.

Born June 21, 1866 in Ionia County, he was a son of Hezekiah and Cornelia 
Little and had lived in Palo most of his life, with the exception of 20 years 
when he lived in Grand Rapids.

He married Mary Owen March 7, 1900 in Palo and was a member of the Palo 
Methodist church for 57 years. He was a retired farmer.

Surviving are his wife, Mary of Palo, a daughter, Mrs. Alfred Cordes of Spring 
Lake, four grandchildren, one great-grandchild and one sister, Mrs. Claud 
Dickerson of Grand Ledge.

Friends and relatives are being received at the VanZantwick funeral home, 620 
Washington street in Grand Haven until Friday morning at 10 o’clock, when the 
body will be removed to the Palo Methodist church. Where funeral services will 
be conducted at 2 p.m. The Rev. Harold Cox of Hubbardston, pastor of the church 
will officiate. Interment will be in the Palo cemetery.
