He passed to eternal rest at his home in Belding, Mich., December 3, 1923. He was a boy whose natural disposition was to be cheerful and happy, and was loved by all those who knew him. He was the eldest of a family of six children. He was converted at the age of twelve, but like many other children he departed from the faith; however, this early experience gave him a taste of Divine grace which he never forgot. He died in the faith, leaving a good testimony. The father having preceded him in death, the grief stricken family sense the loss not only of a beloved son and brother, but of one who had begun to assume the responsibilities of the home, and one on whom they had built prospective hopes. The funeral services were held in the Free Methodist church, Rev. L.D. Bodine officiating, assisted by Revs. Ellis and Curch. He leaves to mourn their loss a mother, three brothers, two sisters two grand mothers, one grand father, a number of uncles, aunts and cousins, besides a host of friends both young and old.
