All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/mi/mifiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Marilyn Ransom mlnransom@chartermi.net July 12, 2010, 7:05 pm The Belding Banner, Wednesday, May 11, 1921 Andrew Little, the third child of ten children and son of John and Katherine Little, was born December 6, 1835 in Chippewa, Wayne Co., Ohio, and died May 3, 1921 aged 85 years, 4 months and 27 days. In the fall of 1865 he was married to Arelia C. Dixon, to this union five children were born, three with his wife, having passed on to the eternal home. James E., of Ionia, and Forest A. Little of San Antonio, Texas, survive the father. He was again married to Mae Worden, March 17, 1886 who was both his life’s help mate and a true mother to both his and her children. Mr. Little enlisted in the U.S. Army in the autumn of 1861 and he served his country as an honored soldier until its close in 1865, being a Lieut. After the close of the war he enlisted in the army of the Lord and served his King until death called him hence. He was a charter member of the Belding Church of Christ and helped in its organization and in the church building. Also a member of the Belding G.A.R. His wife, two sons, James and Forest, two brothers, Alfred and William, of Isabelle county, 2 sisters, Margaret Stewart, of Carson City and Dora Smith of Belding, also the two children, Jesse Worden of Chicago and Sadie Worden of this city who survived, besides many other relatives and friends who have lost a good friend and neighbor. His one brother, Alfred Little, of Rosebush had not gotten the message sent him of the death so reached Belding after the body had gone to the cemetery. His funeral was held at his late home on Masonic Ave. by his pastor, Rev. H. E. Curch and G.A.R. members attended in a body, Mr. Wise carrying the colors and minister and G.A.R. uniting in their services at his grave in Woodard Lake cemetery. Roy Simmons did the singing with Mrs. Simmons at the piano. Many friends with the relatives gathered at the home and followed him to his last resting place which spoke so highly of the record of his life.
