He was one of the best known citizens of the county and well known in banking circles in Lake Odessa, Saranac and Ionia. The funeral was held on Thursday afternoon from the home of his sister, Mrs. Charles Rudd, of Lake Odessa. He had been connected with the Lake Odessa Savings bank since its organization and served as a director of the Saranac Savings bank. He was closely associated with the business life of Lake Odessa and owned much property in that village, Ionia and other places. He was a modest gentleman of genial personality and kindly disposition. He seldom mingled in social activities. He was a member of the Lake Odessa Masonic order. His wife passed away a number of years ago, at which time he lived on a farm in Berlin Township. He is survived by four sisters, Mrs. Charles Rudd of Berlin Township; Mrs. Ella Bigelow, Grand Rapids; Mrs. A. A. Jones, Aberdeen, Wash.; Mrs. George Krause of Portland.
