He was born October, 15, 1875 in Newcastle, Ind., and was a former resident of Battle Creek where he operated the Perennial Garden and the Sunshine Garden Floral shop from 1915 to 1933 when he retired. He lived with his sister in Newcastle, for several years following the death of his wife, Catherine. He then came to Sunfield to live with his daughter and son-in- law, Mr. and Mrs. Bee Bailey. His body is at the Pickens funeral chapel, in Lake Odessa where services will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. Graveside services will be at the Oak Hill cemetery in Battle Creek at 3:30 p.m. The Rev. Vanderveen of the U.B. church of Sunfield will officiate.
