He was 88 years of age the 28th of last November. He located near Maple Corners in Portland township in 1836 and for many years helped to clear many farms in that and other neighborhoods in this vicinity and was always a hard working man so long as he was able to work; but for some years he had been badly crippled by rheumatism as a result of his hard work in early manhood. Deceased was a native of Burgewater, New York. The immediate cause of his death was paralysis although he had become very much debilitated from old age. Beside a widow he leaves five children, Mrs. Lawless, Mrs. Tracy, Efie, Zina of Charlotte and Nelson who resides in Mississippi. Funeral services will be conducted from the late home of deceased Wednesday afternoon by Revs. Stewart and Millard.
