Kenneth C. Lobdell, 72, of Ionia died Jan. 10, 1998 at Ionia County Memorial 
Hospital.  He was born the son of George and Leota (Wright) Lobdell on Nov. 
27, 1925.  

He attended Ionia High School.  He served in the U.S. Navy during World War 
II.  He was a former commander of the Ionia VFW, a life member of the Lansing 
VFW, and a former Seams Squirrel of the Military Order of the Cooties.  He 
married the former Phyllis Donner on Feb. 5, 1949 in Ionia.  He retired from 
General Motors in Lansing after 31 years of service.  He was an avid hunter 
and fisherman.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Phyllis; his mother Leota Lobdell of 
Ionia; one sister, Carol (Gary) Bradley of Ionia; one brother, Jack 
(Constance) Lobdell of Ionia; and nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in 
death by his father, George Lobdell.

A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Rich St. Chapel of 
Cook Funeral Home in Ionia with Rev. Kenneth Harger of Shiloh Community Church 
officiating.  Interment will be in Easton Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 3 
p.m. until the time of the service.  Memorial contributions may be made to the 
Ionia County Memorial Hospital Home Care.  Envelopes are available at the Cook 
Funeral Home in Ionia.
