Ionia Sentinel - Thursday, Aug. 16, 1900

Of the wife on Hon. Joseph A. Locher, who died recently at Saranac, the Local 
says: "Mrs. Locher, age 57, was the mother of eight children, three sons and 
five daughters, of whom six are still living and who, with their father, mourn 
the loss of a devoted mother and wife. The funeral services were held from the 
family residence Saturday afternoon. The remains were laid to rest in the 
Saranac cemetery." Deceased was a57 years of age and was married to Mr. Locher 
in 1865.
