H. S. Ellis, pastor of the Belding Congregational church spoke words of condolence at the loss of so sterling a woman. Because of the serious illness of her aged mother, Mrs. Mary Morse, the services were held from the funeral home which was literally filled with floral tributes from the many friends who mourned her. She was widely known and greatly admired for those qualities which had made her a splendid example of womanhood. Her body was borne by Leslie Sykes, Don Fiske, Allen Kimberly, Don White, Ralph White and Lawrence Gebbart to the grave in River Ridge cemetery where she was laid at rest beside the body of her husband, the late Alfred R. Locke, former attorney and Ionia County prosecuting attorney, who died eight years ago. among those from Ionia who attended the services were Mr. and Mrs. Glenn D. Mathews, Mr and Mrs W. C. Hawley, Dr. and Mrs. F. M. Marsh, Mr and Mrs Allen Locke, Mr and Mrs A. J. Hemingway, Mr. and Mrs. G. Lee Yates, Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Ireland, Mr and Mrs Fred T. Mason and Miss Leona Conner.
