Mrs. Lillian Locke, 67, passed away Tuesday at Lakeview hospital following a long period of illness. She was born at Stanwood August 2, 1882, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Logan. She graduated from Stanwood high school. She came to this city and worked as a bookkeeper at the E. C. Lloyd department store. While here she married Fred Locke and continued to live here for 30 years. She had one son, Wayne, who served his country in Europe in the late war and was killed there. His body was the first one to be returned here for burial. After the death of her husband, she returned to Stanwood to make her home. She was a member of the Congregational church. She is survived by one stepdaughter, Mrs. E. V. Beckwith of Jackson, five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday at two o’clock at Fitzjohn Funeral Home, Rev. William Hoffman of Stanwood officiating, and burial will be in the mausoleum at River Ridge cemetery.
