Harvey Lockwood, 19-year-old son of Mrs. Wm. Dicken of near Smyrna who died at 11:30 at his home. Young Harvey had had his tonsils removed about four weeks ago in Howard City, and although they had been badly diseased, he was getting along as well as could be expected. However, in his weakened condition pneumonia set in, causing his death. Harvey completed the 8th grade in the Smyrna school in 1932 and since that time has helped with the farm work at home and for the past two years has worked on the Harold Taylor farm near Coral. He had been a member of the Sir Knights order of the Smyrna Maccabees for about three years. Surviving besides the mother is the step-father, Wm. Dicken; a sister, Mrs. Howard Insley; a brother, Richard Lockwood, and a half-sister, Lydia Ann Dicken. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the home near Smyrna with Rev. S.C. Parsons of Greenville officiating and burial was in Smyrna cemetery.
