Several weeks ago he was ill with quinsy, and had his tonsils removed. He was up and around Wednesday evening and Friday suffered a relapse which developed into pneumonia Saturday. He was born at Coral on July 4, 1918 and had always attended school at Smyrna, from where he was graduated from the 8th grade in 1930. He had been working for the past two years on the farm of Harold Taylor, near Coral. He was a member of the Smyrna tent of the Maccabees. Survivors are his mother and step-father; a sister, Mrs.Howard Insley of Smyrna; a brother Richard Lockwood; and a step-sister, Miss Lydia Ann Dicken. Funeral services will be held from the home south of Smyrna on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment will be in the Smyrna cemetery.
