Ionia Sentinel-Standard
Mrs. Mary S. Lockwood, 87, of Butler road, Portland, died Monday evening in 
Lansing’s St Lawrence hospital where she had been admitted Monday afternoon in 
ill health.  Born in Portland township, January 11, 1893, she was a daughter of 
Mr and Mrs Benjamin Smith.

Surviving are her husband, Charles T. Lockwood of Portland; Thomas C. Lockwood 
of Jackson; a daughter, Mrs. Ruth French of Portland; seven grandchildren and 
two great grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 pm September 30 from Neller funeral home in Portland; the 
Rev Richard Gayles of Portland Congregational church officiating.  Burial is in 
Portland cemetery.
