Ionia Sentinel Standard, 13 Oct 1970

Bertha B. Lockwood, 95, of 219 1/2 West Main died Monday afternoon at the home
of her daughter, Mrs. Kenneth Jennings of 640 West Washington.  She was born
April 14, 1875 in Pewamo.

Her husband Cyrene died in 1946.  For many years she was in charge of the check
room at the Ionia Free fair.  She had lived most of her married life in Ionia
and was a member of the Eastern Star and was assistant warder.

Surviving are a son, David Lockwood of Lansing; two daughters, Mrs. Belva Smith
of Flint, Mrs. Janet Jennings of Ionia; eight grandchildren and eight great
grandchildren; brother, Albert Robertson of Lansing; two sisters, Mrs. Fannie
Morton of Grand Ledge, and Mrs. Grave Robertson of Mulliken.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Myers-Roetman funeral home. 
Rev. Robert McComb of First Presbyterian church will officiate with interment at
Balcom cemetery.
