Charles T. Lockwood, 92, 9773 Butler road, died at his home Monday.  He was born
August 10, 1885 in Portland, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas J. Lockwood.  Mr.
Lockwood was a retired comptroller for Southern Michigan State prison, founder
of the Portland Country club and a former Portland businessman.  He was a
lifemember of Portland lodge 31, F&AM.

His wife Mary preceded him in death.  Survivors include one son, Thomas C. of
Portland; one daughter, Mrs. Ruth French of Portland; a brother, Robert of Alma;
a sister Mrs. Grace Megarah of Portland; seven grandchildren and seven
great-grandchildren.

Services are Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Neller funeral home with Rev. Ronald
Lahr officiating.  Burial is in Portland cemetery.  A memorial fund is
established for the cancer fund.  Bearers are David Lockwood, Thomas French,
Frank McGowan, Richard Megarah, Joseph Lockwood and Richard Dawdy.
