Lockwood, 92, 9773 Butler road, died at his home Monday. He was born August 10, 1885 in Portland, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas J. Lockwood. Mr. Lockwood was a retired comptroller for Southern Michigan State prison, founder of the Portland Country club and a former Portland businessman. He was a lifemember of Portland lodge 31, F&AM. His wife Mary preceded him in death. Survivors include one son, Thomas C. of Portland; one daughter, Mrs. Ruth French of Portland; a brother, Robert of Alma; a sister Mrs. Grace Megarah of Portland; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Services are Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Neller funeral home with Rev. Ronald Lahr officiating. Burial is in Portland cemetery. A memorial fund is established for the cancer fund. Bearers are David Lockwood, Thomas French, Frank McGowan, Richard Megarah, Joseph Lockwood and Richard Dawdy.
