The Ionia Standard, Friday, January 3, 1897


William Logan, only son of Dr. R. Logan, died at one o’clock Thursday 
afternoon, of pneumonia.  He first reported himself sick on Tuesday, and his 
father gave him some medicine.  He did not seem to be bad off, but Wednesday 
morning he was worse, and his father had him removed from his boarding place 
to the doctor’s house, and remained up with him all night.  This morning his 
condition was evidently critical, both lungs being filled, and Dr. Thomas was 
called in consultation, but all efforts for his relief failed.

Deceased was 40 years of age.  He leaves a daughter of seven years, whose home 
has been with her grandparents since the death of her mother five years ago.
