Voleta was born on December 23, 1918 in Fenwick the daughter of Carlton and Hazel Smith Higbee. She had retired from Gibson’s. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary of Greenville and the Greenville Church of the Nazarene. Voleta was preceded by her parents, brother Gordon Higbee, sister Norma Jean Johnson and her first husband Raymond Martin. She later married Harold F. Lohry on February 14, 1976 in Wisconsin. Harold preceded Voleta on February 4, 2007. She is survived by her children and their spouses; Robert and Carol Martin of South Haven, Harold Martin of Smyrna, Chuck and Joyce Martin of Clarksville, Shirley Ann and Doug Ruedinger of Greenville, South Carolina and a step-son, James and Carol Lohry of Vicksburg. Voleta is also survived by 12 great grandchildren, many great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. In keeping with her wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be 2:00 PM Monday at the Greenville Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Tim Deshaw officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service at church. Inurnment will be in Woodard Lake Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the Greenville Church of the Nazarene.
