Ionia Daily Sentinel Standard, 6 Aug 1948

Services for Eugene Long, 78, were held from the Boynton funeral home Thursday 
morning at 11:00 o’clock with the Rev. Howard Smith, pastor of the First 
Methodist church, officiating.  Interment was in Lyons cemetery.  Mr. Long died 
Monday evening at the Ionia County Memorial hospital, where he had been since 
Saturday after being struck by an automobile on South Jackson street, south of 
the Grand Trunk railroad crossing.  His bearers were Kenneth Loucks, LeMar 
Castle, Harold Moore, Orrieson Tucker, Donald Badder and Richard Crankshaw.

Relatives attending the services from away were Mr. and Mrs. Orrieson Tucker of 
Flint, Herman Long and Harold Long of Lansing, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Aldrich of 
Hadley, and Miss Marciel Long and Mr. and Mrs. William Huff of Lowell.
