Belding – Thomas R. Long, 48, of Belding died Dec. 17, 1996 at Metropolitan
Hospital in Grand Rapids.  He was born March 25, 1948 in Redford Twp. the son of
Daniel R. and Lorraine (Steele) Long.  He married Nancy Lafferty Aug. 18, 1989
in Ionia.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy of Belding; mother Lorraine Long of Fenton;
two sons, Thomas D. (Lisa) Long of Clarkston, and Cory R. Long of Orleans; one
daughter, Michelle L. Long of Greenville; four step-sons, Ronald Kenneth (Karen)
Davison of Saranac, John (Dona) Davison of North Carolina, Patrick Lafferty of
Belding, and Bradley Lafferty of Belding; two stepdaughters, Cathy (Phil) Hesche
of Lowell and Deborah Lafferty of Belding; one brother Daniel R. Long of
Fowlerville; one sister, Leslie Line of Linden; and eight grandchildren.  He was
preceded in death by his father, Daniel, in 1986.

Cremation has taken place upon his request and private services will be held for
the family.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart
Association in care of the funeral home.  Arrangements were made by Lake Funeral
Home in Ionia.
