He was born August 1, 1912 in Bengonic, Michigan. He retired in 1962 as a captain after 25 years with the Michigan State Police. He was personnel director at the Ionia State Hospital for the Criminally Insane from 1962 through 1975. He and his wife, Marguerite, moved to North Carolina in 1976. He is survived by his wife, Marguerite, of Edenton; four sons, Michael of San Diego; Bruce of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands; Bill of San Francisco; and Allen of New Orleans; two grandchildren, Scott and Erin of San Diego. Memorial services were held at Pointe Loma Presbyterian Church Sunday.
