Sentinel-Standard - Monday, Jan. 8, 1968

Ralph C. Long, 64, who made his home at 237 Adams with his niece, Mrs. Russell 
Neilson, died at Ionia County Memorial hospital Sunday morning following a 
lengthy illness.

He was born in Ionia, February 25, 1903, the son of Eugene and Mattie Green 
Long and lived his entire life in the Ionia area, attending the LeValley 
school. He lived on a farm with his parents and worked as a farm hand in the 
area. For several years he was a truck driver for a local milling firm.

Surviving are a stepson, George Thompson of Flint; a daughter, Mrs. Jerome 
Shewmaker of Flint; eight grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Mary Tucker of Flint.

Funeral services will be  Tuesday at 3:30 pm at Boynton funeral home with Rev. 
Lowell E. Young officiating. Interment will be in Tuttle cemetery.
