Longe, 84, a long time Ionia area resident, died Wednesday evening in Methodist Manor at Milwaukee, Wisc. She was born in Ontario, Canada, May 18, 1894, the daughter of James and Mary Ellard Sheehan. She attended school in Ontario and was married to William G. Longe Jr. in Detroit in 1924. They and lived most of married life, from 1926 to 1965, in Ionia. She worked as a stenographer for Michigan Central Railroad. In 1965 the couple moved to Milwaukee to be near children. She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Church and the Daughters of Isabella of Ionia. Her husband preceded her in death on Aug. 19, 1977. Survivors include: one son, Dr. William G. Longe and one daughter Mrs. Paul (Rosemary) Dudenhoefer both of Elm Grove; eight grandchildren and three sisters, Mrs. Joseph McHugh and Sister Mary Roseann and Sister Frances Veronica, all of Ontario Canada. Funeral mass will be at SS Peter and Paul at 9 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Henry Dondzila officiating. Internment will be in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Ionia. The scriptural wake service will be recited at the Leddick Funeral Home at 8 p.m. Friday.
