Mary E. (McCann) Longe, 77, of South Fort Meyers, Fla., died Wednesday, May 23
after a lengthy illness.  She was born March 7, 1912, the daughter of Dr. John
and Clara (Fankey) McCann, in Ionia.  She graduated from SS. Peter and Paul’s
High School and the Mary Grove College of Detroit.

Longe lived in Grosse Pointe, before moving to Fort Meyers 11 years ago.  She
was a member of the Church of Resurrection.

Longe is survived by her husband, John F., of Fort Meyers; one son, James F.
Longe of Tampa, Fla.; and two daughters, Karen Longe and Mrs. Mary Frederick,
both of Chicago, Illinois.  Two grandchildren also survive her.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 26, at the Church of Resurrection,
at 10 a.m.  Visitation will be today from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Phil Kiser
Funeral Home.  A memorial has been arranged in Longe’s name to the Church of
Resurrection Parish Center Building Fund.
