Longfield, 103, died at her home in Zephyrhills, Fla., April 17. She was born March 1, 1885, in Orange Township, the daughter of Clarence and Carrie Hinds Wolverton. She was married to Arthur Normington on Aug. 24, 1904. He preceded her in death, as did a daughter Bernice. She then married Earl Longfield on Nov. 14, 1917, and he preceded her in death Nov. 14, 1960. She has resided in Florida since 1957, and received a plaque from the Pasco County Commissioners of Florida as being the county’s oldest living resident. She was a former member of the LeValley United Methodist Church. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Wesley (Ruthella) Blow of Ionia; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren, and a cousin, Jessie Hinds of Ionia. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday from the LeValley United Methodist Church, with the Rev. William F. Braun officiating. Burial will be in Balcom Cemetery. The family will be at the Rich Street Chapel, Cook Funeral Home, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. A memorial has been established for the LeValley Untied Methodist Church, Church Memorial Fund, in care of the funeral home.
