She moved to Belding at the age of 2. She was a graduate of Belding High School, class of 1933, and attended Davenport Institute. She was a bookkeeper and teller at the former Belding Savings and Loan Association for 19 years, retiring in 1982. She was a charter member of the Oakwood Christian Reformed Church and a member of the Ladies Bible Study Group. She was a member of the Ladies Literary Club and volunteered for the Red Cross Bloodmobile. She married Louis Loomans on March 26, 1937, in Belding. He preceded her in death on Oct 9, 1989. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Janis, in 1949; a son, Garrett, in 1956; a brother, Leslie Rich; and a sister, Anna Rhodes. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Leslie and Susan Loomans, Ann Arbor, John and Adele Loomans, from Novato, Calif., and stationed with the U. S. Coast Guard in Alameda, Calif.; five grandchildren, Jeffrey, Elisa, Alanna, Larissa and Laura Loomans; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Eva and Don Edwards, Belding, Deloris and Ed Palethorpe, Belding, Leah and Leroy Palethorpe, Greenville, Aletha Ward, Greenville. The funeral service will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Oakwood Christian Reformed Church, Belding, with Pastor Al Gelder officiating. Interment will be in River Ridge Cemetery in Belding. Visitation is today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home, Belding. Memorial contributions may be made to Oakwood Christian Reformed Church.
