William L. Loomis, 75, of Carson City, passed away Sunday, September 19, 2004 
at Metron of Belding.  Bill was born December 15, 1929, in Mount Pleasant, the 
son of William and Florence Bowers Loomis.  He married Josephine Vaughn on 
April 7, 1958.  Bill served 20 years in the U.S. Army, retiring on September 
31, 1972.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Ruth Loomis, Margaret 
Loomis; and three brothers, Gerald, Roby and Donald E. Loomis.  He is survived 
by his wife, Josephine; son, Jim and Barb Loomis of Gowen; two daughters, 
Shelia Curtis of Ohio, Joy and Roger Vaughn of Greenville; sister, Barb Riggle 
of Mount Pleasant; brother, Jim Loomis of Delaware; six grandchildren and 19 
great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Lux and Schnepp Funeral Home, 
Carson City.  Interment is in Fort Custer Cemetery, Augusta.  Visitation is 
from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.  Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of 
Michigan or the Disabled American Veterans.
