Suicide.  A Mr. Loomis, a respected farmer living in the town of Lyons, Ionia
Co., about five miles from the village of Matherton, we learn committed suicide
on Friday morning, the 19th inst., by hanging himself in an out building near
his house.  He, as well as his family, embracing a wife and several small and
dependent children, had been sick much of the time for two months back, and our
informant says that no possible cause for his committing such an act can be
surmised by his neighbors, unless the ill health of his family, and the
consequent derangement of his financial affairs had rendered him indifferent to
life and the claims of his family upon it. – St. Johns Republican
