Sentinel-Std. - Thursday, June 8, 1944

Dexter S. Loomis, 42, born in Ionia and son of the late Maj. and Arthur P. 
Loomis, died Thursday  morning at 1 o'clock in Herman Kiefer hospital at 
Detroit, where he had undergone treatment the past three weeks. He had been in 
poor health the past 15 years and for the last seven years had resided with his 
sister, Miss Frances Loomis, in Detroit.

The remains are to be brought to Stone's funeral home here. Arrangements of 
rites are being completed. 

Also surviving are two brothers, James, of Flint, and John, of Ionia.

After graduating from Ionia high school, the deceased was employed in Flint and 
Lansing prior to moving to Detroit.

Sentinel Std. - Monday, June 12, 1944
Funeral services for Dexter S. Loomis, 42 of Detroit, were held Saturday 
afternoon at the Stone funeral home. Rev. Paul L. Stewart officiated and burial 
was in the family lot in Balcom cemetery.

Pallbearers were John Loomis, James Loomis, Joel Benedict and Martin D. 
McNamara.
Attending services from away, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Edwards ---* isc, O., James 
Loomis of ---* and several friends of James ---* also of Flint, and Miss ----* 
Loomis of Detroit.
